Interview with Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber.
September 10th, 2012 - Recently, adult performer and Bollywood superstar Sunny Leone and The Disparrows frontman Daniel Weber let Lydia Lee and Dr. Chauntelle crash their studio in Los Angeles - what followed was nothing short of magic!
During the intimate Q&A, Sunny and Daniel discuss their projects and lives split between two continents. The couple has had (and continues to have!) incredible success with their US company, SunLust Pictures. And, with Bollywood's Jism 2 (2012) in theatres and more movies on the way, Sunny and Daniel are currently straddling the fence between two distinct types of stardom in two very distinct cultures.
Sunny Leone speaks about Jism 2, the presence of erotic scenes in Indian movies, and why she couldn't have imagined success as a Bollywood actress only a few years ago. She also talks about her upcoming horror movie Ragini MMS 2, learning to dance, and being overwhelmed by India's acceptance.
Daniel Weber speaks about The Disparrows as a collaborative effort amongst all its band members, where he draws his inspiration, working on the second album, and hopefully getting to play in India.
They both talk about the importance of music in Indian films, the cultural inclination to choose entertainment over basic necessities, global-level media disconnects, Indian activists' hopes for Sunny as a politicized symbol, and how India is the only place in the world that could have accepted an pornographic actress from the US without judgment.
Don't miss Jism 2, in select theatres right now (get showtimes for Artesia, CA here); and The Disparrows music video for "Sweet Surrender" is a must-see!! (video below)
